FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about CutCue.
Getting started
-
What exactly does CutCue do?
CutCue analyzes your audio — streams, podcasts, recordings — and generates timestamped markers: chapter detection, demonetization flags, highlights, custom keywords, and cutter instructions. You import these directly into your NLE so the prep work that used to take hours takes minutes.
-
Who is CutCue for?
Freelance stream editors, video agencies, and anyone who regularly works with long-form recordings. CutCue is built for people who spend too much time reviewing before the first cut.
-
Is CutCue available right now?
Registration opens very soon. Enter your email on cutcue.io to be notified the moment it opens.
How it works
-
What happens after I upload my audio?
Your file is uploaded securely and processed in the background. CutCue runs speech recognition, intensity analysis, and keyword detection. You get timestamped markers (highlights, demonetization flags, chapters, custom keywords) and optional SRT/VTT. You can keep working while it processes.
-
How accurate are the demonetization flags?
CutCue flags known risk terms for YouTube content in English and German, based on publicly available guidelines. Support for additional languages and platforms is in development. No automated system can guarantee compliance — YouTube's policies change regularly. CutCue helps you catch known issues early; the final decision is always yours.
-
How are highlight markers determined?
CutCue analyzes intensity patterns in the audio (reactions, peaks, emotional moments) and suggests moments that may work as highlights. These are suggestions — you choose what to use.
-
What are custom keyword markers?
Words or phrases you define (e.g. brand names, "editor cut this out"). CutCue finds and marks every occurrence in the recording. The Creator plan includes 10; Studio offers unlimited (fair use).
-
What are fingerprint markers?
With fingerprint detection you upload audio samples (e.g. raid alerts or similar sounds). CutCue finds them in your footage and marks those moments automatically.
Supported tools
-
Which NLEs does CutCue support?
CutCue targets Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Final Cut Pro; integration is being expanded. You can use SRT/VTT for subtitles in any NLE or YouTube.
-
What file formats are supported for upload?
Common audio formats (e.g. MP3, WAV, M4A). Video is not processed; export the audio track from your NLE to keep file size and cost low.
-
How do I import the markers into Premiere Pro / DaVinci Resolve / Final Cut?
Export your markers from CutCue and import them in your NLE. See the Help page for step-by-step instructions.
Pricing & credits
-
What is a credit?
1 credit = 1 minute of audio. A 2-hour stream uses about 120 credits. Credits are used for audio processing and may occasionally be used for other features.
-
What happens if I run out of credits mid-month?
You can upgrade your plan or purchase an additional credit pack. Purchased credits do not expire; only the credits included in your plan are subject to the rollover rules (see next question).
-
Do unused credits roll over?
Purchased credit packs do not expire. Plan credits roll over: Starter up to 30 days / 1 billing cycle, Creator up to 60 days / 2 cycles, Studio up to 90 days / 3 cycles. See the cancellation policy for details.
-
Is there a free trial?
You can start with the Starter plan (€29/month excl. VAT) anytime. If CutCue doesn't fit your workflow, you can cancel within the first month — no minimum term, no hassle.
